Tonalist painting done one chilly morning in Spring. The sun was just starting to come up. Not a cloud in the sky. The birds were beginning to fill the air with sweet sound.

NEW ART GALLERY OPENING IN NEWPORT’S
HISTORIC HILL DISTRICT
Newport, RI – June 9 , 2009: The latest addition to Newport’s local art scene, is the
Grand Opening of a collaborative art gallery at 134 Spring Street, in the quaint Historic
Hill neighborhood of downtown Newport: “Harbor Fine Art”
Proprietor and renowned local artist Betty Ann Morris, has transformed the corner
storefront of her 1700’s building into a spectacular showcase for local artists. Joining
forces with her in this venture are fellow painters John MacGowan, Mark Fernandez,
Jonathan McPhillips and Edward Fay.
“We wanted to create a space to present what some of Newport’s best artists have to offer,
and most of our contemporary oil paintings do reflect both the history, feel and charm of our city”
says Betty Ann. The gallery also gives the opportunity for other art forms to be displayed,
such as the innovative stained glass works by Laura Fernandez.
Conveniently located in downtown Newport, on historic Spring Street with neighboring
Antique Shops and Trinity Church, Harbor Fine Art is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm,
with extended Summer hours. The gallery is also a working Studio where
several of the artists create their work. Artwork can also be viewed on the galleries

 The Wedding
Had the pleasure of attending a wonderful friends wedding in October at Astor's Beechwood in Historic Newport RI. I was supposed to do a landscape as their gift. Captured a few photo's at the wedding that meant so much more. Here is the painting of the groom caught in the mirror behind the bride. Once dry I will glaze and make it look a little more mirror like.
Hope they like it.
