Time to do my Fake or Forgery for the Spring Bull Gallery Show. Opening 7 Feb 09. I have chosen 2 different artists to copy.
My first is a painting I fell in love with years ago. I have been admiring the work of William Trost Richards for quite some time now. The first painting I remember seeing was at Roger King Gallery in Newport RI.
William Trost Richards did post card size paintings. This painting was of a place called Ft. Dumpling.
It was in Jamestown RI and torn down or actually blown up around 1895 or so to make way for Ft Wetheral.
Size is 4 inches by 7 inches.
