McDuff by Betty Ann Morris

Painting number 2 is a McDuff Beach Scene painting.  He had a wonderful way of painting simple seascapes with people under umbrella's, long flowing dresses, men in hats.  I had a request to do this from a friend and neighbor.  I was able to have the painting in my posession for over a week.  Wonderful light and color.

Ft. Dumpling William Trost Richards by Betty Ann Morris

Time to do my Fake or Forgery for the Spring Bull Gallery Show.  Opening 7 Feb 09.  I have chosen 2 different artists to copy.

My first is a painting I fell in love with years ago.  I have been admiring the work of William Trost Richards for quite some time now.  The first painting I remember seeing was at Roger King Gallery in Newport RI.
William Trost Richards did post card size paintings.  This painting was of a place called Ft. Dumpling.
It was in Jamestown RI and torn down or actually blown up around 1895 or so to make way for Ft Wetheral.
Size is 4 inches by 7 inches.

Castle Hill Light House Newport Rhode island

Morning Light at Castle Hill. Could anything be any better.
Gilt Omega frame.  This painting is also available in a giclee on canvas or water color paper. Always uplifting to be out on the rocks in front of Castle Hill painting.  Boats going by and the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks below.

Brent Point Lighthouse

Had the pleasure of getting this commission for Christmas.  Couple got married their this summer and took

some awesome photo's for me to work from.
This was an 18 x 24 format.  Brent Point Lighthouse is such a beautiful place to be never mind getting
married there.  All the best to you both.
